MetaFox is totally different from phpFox V4 in aspects of UI/UX design and technology stack. In MetaFox, we have redesigned the software architecture and rewritten both the Backend and Frontend. We focus on the Frontend with a new simplified UI design and employ React, the latest Frontend technology, to power the Frontend system. Meanwhile, the Backend of the software which is rewritten based on Laravel, the most popular framework, will expose API for the Frontend (and apps: mobile/tablet/desktop/other apps) to consume. Database engines MySQL and Postgres will be supported at the beginning. Moreover, there's also a new layout organization and live layout editor for admins.
Installing MetaFox on shared hosting is simple and quick with a few clicks via Wizard. Certainly, we are going to provide you with detailed installation guide. Generally, you will upload source package on the shared hosting. Then, go to the URL for installation wizard and go through installation steps.
Yes, all source codes are provided, including Backend (PHP), Frontend (React/Typescript), Mobile (React Native). The source code will be available for downloading in Client Area after the official release.
Yes, after official release of MetaFox, as soon as your V4 license is active and in the Product Upgrade period, you can convert your phpFox V4 license to the equivalent MetaFox license without extra charged fee:
- phpFox V4 Pro to MetaFox Pro
- phpFox V4 Ultimate to MetaFox Ultimate
If you are holding V4 Lite, you can upgrade your license to V4 Pro/Ultimate before converting to the equivalent MetaFox license.
If the Product Upgrade period of your phpFox V4 license has ended, you will need to renew your phpFox V4 license first. The renewal fee is 20% of the license price.
All current 3rd-party apps on phpFox Store is for phpFox V4. MetaFox App structure is completely changed, so all 3rd party apps need to be rewritten for MetaFox

We’ve found that giving clients the opportunity to fully test the MetaFox script on their server or localhost via a 14-day trial version for free is a far better option than requiring a purchase with a refund term. As such, due to the free trial, we do not provide refunds unless the MetaFox script can’t be installed on the client’s.
